The privacy of visitors who access professorspearls.com is of utmost importance.  Like most public websites, this site participates in the Google AdSense Program which includes the use of Google Analytics to monitor user traffic.  The purpose of collecting this information is to assist with the development and promotion of the site.  Please be assured that data collected of any kind is never shared, distributed or sold to third parties.

The following list contains details about the type of information captured by Google Analytics:

Log Files - As with most other websites, this site collects and uses the data contained in log files.  The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or  Comcast), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer  or Firefox), the time you visited the site and which pages you visited throughout our site.  This data helps  determine what type of content is most sought after by site users.  This assists in the development of relevant and effective content.

Cookies and Web Beacons - Cookies are used to store certain information, such as your personal preferences when you visit this site.  This may inlude pop-up's, and/or the ability to login to some of the site features, such as forums.

Third party advertisements: This site contains third party advertisements as a means to support the maintenance of the site.  Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on this site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit the site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.  This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing Houston area real estate ads to someone in Houston, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off site cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security.  However, this may affect how you are able to interact with the site as well as other websites.  This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.

Bottom line... professorspearls.com respects your right to privacy and support any decisions you make in regards to maintaining the level of privacy most comfortable for you.
